Write Your Story for 2020

If you haven't noticed already, here at PLC we're committed to helping you create a home that supports your ideal lifestyle. But first things first. We've got to figure out what your ideal lifestyle looks like before we begin. So, if you've been following along, you've discovered and gotten really clear on your "why", as well as your values and desires in life. (If you haven't, go back to this post!) You're probably wondering what to do now. Well the good news is, this is the fun part. You get to dream, be creative, and design your home and your lifestyle to be exactly what you have always wanted.

There are exactly two steps to this. Easy peasy, right?

1. Rewrite your story

2. Create your vision board

This is the perfect time of year for this as we close out 2019 and prepare to enter into 2020. New years offer great symbolism for new beginnings. That's why so many people make new year's resolutions. But it does't need to stop at the year. Think about your future. Some of your dreams may be years down the road. But lets start to map them out now to get them moving shall we? This is a great activity to do with friends or family over a glass of wine, tea, or whatever you fancy. :)

1. Rewrite Your Story

Take your values and desires that you determined from the last post. Grab a pen and a new sheet of paper. We like physically writing these out rather than typing because it feels more personal. Now, using your values and desires, write them out in the present tense as if they are already true. Add some personality and details to them, create a feeling, and write as much as you like.

Example:

Values: Health, happiness, freedom, wealth

"I am a healthy, happy, free, and wealthy woman!"

Desires: To travel to Europe, have two kids, start a business, buy a house.

"I love travelling to Europe and exploring other cultures with my husband and two kids. We have so much fun together trying the local food and meeting new people. I am so grateful for my successful business and all the people I help. I get to work from home in my beautiful dream house in the country. My home office is decorated with one of a kind antiques and overlooks the green rolling hills. I look forward to each day!"

2. Create Your Vision Board

Now, lets get crafty. Grab some old magazines or start perusing Pinterest, and clip or save any image that represents anything you wrote down in your values, desire, and new story. It can be as big or as small as you want, but make sure it inspires you. Keep it where you can see it everyday and make a point to look at it every day! Set it as your computer background, your phone screen, frame it, tape it to your mirror, whatever you need to do! Every time you see it, pause and remember why those images are there and how they make you feel. If you have a meditation practice it is helpful to spend a few moments envisioning these images and feeling the feelings.

Finally, we want to hear from you... share you vision with us here or join us and other like minded people in our Facebook Group so we can cheer each other on!
