Welcome! Who We Are and What We do!

Hey there! Welcome to Pure Living Collective! For whatever reason you came, you’re in the right place. Perhaps you’re already aware of Wellness Design and are looking to connect with like minded individuals, or you want to make changes to your life for the better, in one way or another. Either way, we’re glad you’re here and would like to take a moment to introduce ourselves and answer a few questions.

It’s nice to meet you. We’re Dan and Lauren, the creators of Pure Living Collective. We come from a wide array of backgrounds and interests that we’ve blended together here at PLC in order to help you, our community, and our planet become a happier, healthier place.

So, first things first. If you’ve never heard of wellness design (and to be honest, a lot of people we talk to haven’t), you might be asking yourself, “What is it?” According to the International Well Building Institute, the “WELL Building Standard is the premier standard for buildings, interior spaces and communities seeking to implement, validate and measure features that support and advance human health and wellness”. The WELL Building Standard evaluates projects based on eight concepts: Air, water, nourishment, light, fitness, comfort, mind, and innovation. If you’d like to dive deeper into the WELL standard, you can read more about each of their concepts and what goes into creating a WELL building ---> here.

To us, wellness design is about an entire lifestyle- body, mind, habitat. It means bringing together sciences and arts in order to create environments and lifestyles that improve quality of life for you, your family, and planet earth. It involves equal attention to health, happiness, and sustainability. It starts with you, and your family, in your home and extends to your community and eventually throughout the world. We believe your home should be a place where you thrive, where you reset, where you find peace and love and joy, so that you can spread those qualities outside of your home. Our vision is inspired by some wonderful practices including:

We’ve taken our interest, research, and experience in the above concepts and broken them down into three key elements that we use to help people create their ideal lifestyle: Detox, Declutter, Design. Here is a brief overview about what goes into each step.

Detox

Detoxing is hard. You’re breaking a habit. You’re removing something you’ve become accustomed to or dependent on. You may feel resistance or withdrawal. But ultimately these habits or things are causing harm to you, your loved ones, or the environment. They’re toxic. They can be actual physical items, or even thoughts and emotions. Things to evaluate when detoxing:

  • Toxic chemicals

-Household cleaners

-Cosmetics/toiletries

-Household Materials

  • Home air, water, and light quality

  • Negative thoughts/habits/emotions

  • Unhealthy relationships

  • Diet

Declutter

In order to make a change, you need to remove what is standing in your way, hindering you from living the life you want. Again, these can be physical or non-physical things that are taking up precious time and space in your daily lives. Eliminating certain things that do not align with your ideal lifestyle opens the door to what truly matters to you. When you surround yourself with only the possessions, habits, people, thoughts that bring you feelings of love and happiness you are able to live in a more regular state of enjoyment. When you evaluate what truly brings you joy you may realize that the quantity of these things is actually much less than you originally thought. Less can actually prove to be much better because there is more quality in what you keep. The important thing to remember here is to be aware that attachment can lead to suffering. You want to surround yourself with things that bring about feelings of joy but do not rely on these things to make you happy. Nothing is permanent after all. Things to evaluate when decluttering:

  • Physical possessions

-In your home

-Storage units

-At your workplace

-At family members’ homes

  • Commitments or overbooked schedules

  • Digital clutter

  • Mental clutter

  • Finances (careless spending, overspending)

  • Reduce waste

Design

This is the fun part. Where you finally get to create your ideal lifestyle. Going into this process you should have an idea about what this will look like for you. This will will help you stay committed and make it easier to move through the hard stuff because you have a goal to work towards. How do you want your living space to look and feel? Who do you want to surround yourself with? What do you want to spend your time doing? What impact do you want to have on the future of the planet? You have a choice and you get to decide the answers to these questions and more. After detoxing and decluttering you get to fill that space with what makes you the healthiest, happiest version of you. Possible things to consider when designing your life:

  • Sustainable and non-toxic living

-Mindful Materials in your home decor

-Plastic free

-Natural cosmetics and personal care

-Environmentally responsible fashion

-Zero waste

-”Green” cleaning

  • Quality air, water, and lighting

  • A home designed to promote joy, peace, love, and healthy habits

  • Biophilic Design

  • Create healthy, loving relationships

  • Regular fitness routine

  • Plant based or high-vibe diet

  • Meditation/ Mindfulness practice

  • Budgeting/spending wisely

  • Home organization

  • Make time for hobbies or starting your dream job

  • The list is endless and personal to you!

We truly appreciate you taking the time to stop by, and be sure to thank yourself for taking a step toward creating your ideal life! Creating this business is one of our “ideal life” goals and we owe it to people like you, who see the value in these ideas, for helping to make it a reality. Please stick with us as we aim to provide as much valuable content as we can to help you and others on their journey, and be sure to let us know what you want to see and hear- we are a collective, a community!

And finally, we are here to assist you along the way. We are available to provide one-on-one advice or consultations in person or digitally. We welcome opportunities to host workshops, speak at your wellness events, and collaborate with like-minded wellness brands. We look forward to connecting :)
